Going through our photos to create this post was nearly impossible. There are so many amazing photos and an overflow of emotions as I look through each one. Every detail of our wedding day was pure bliss. We are so thankful for all of our dear friends and family for attending our wedding as well as those who sent their wishes from afar. We love you all so much.
Thank you to all those in attendance who stayed and were so accommodating in the quick change of ceremony location. For those who do not know.. a HUGE storm came up (rain, thunder, lighting, the WHOLE works) about 15 minutes prior to me walking down the isle. Our ceremony was set to be outside (as you will see in photos) and with my AMAZING wedding planner and her staff, as well as the amazing groomsmen, ushers, and men in our family, they managed to completely shift the ceremony from outside to inside. I am so blessed that I had Shayna Chapman Designs there as her team created, in a time crunch, the most beautiful inside ceremony. I guess the old wise tale is, rain on your wedding day brings good luck and we certainly witnessed this.
In this post I want to share as much of the details of our wedding that meant so much to Connor and I. All of our venders and places of purchase are listed at the end of this post.
Getting Ready: All of us girls had a blast being pampered. We all had our hair and makeup done, and ate lots of food while we enjoyed getting ready together. Without seeing each other, Connor and I exchanged notes and gifts the morning of our wedding. Oh how happy my heart already was this early on our big day.
First Look: Connor and I went back and forth weeks before the wedding deciding on if we wanted to do a first look. Oh how happy I am that we did a first look. I have no words to express how amazing it was to see Connor’s first reaction to seeing me in my dress.
First Look with My Dad: My first look with my dad was so special to me. I have always been a daddy’s girl and I am so blessed that he has made all of my dreams come true. After my dad and I’s first look, my mom and dad surprised me with a diamond necklace. The diamond in the necklace is from my mom’s first engagement ring!!
Gift Exchange with Grandparents: My grandparents, Nana and Doc, surprised me with three very sweet gifts. The first gift was a personalized desk bible verse set. The second, was a locket with my mom and dad and Nana and Doc’s wedding picture that I put around my bouquet. I will show this further down with the details photos. Lastly, they gave me a beautiful pearl ring to wear the day of my wedding.
Wedding Party: I am so blessed that each of these special people were a part of our big day! We love you all so much!!
Details of Our Wedding: As you will see in the photos, the ceremony pictures are before the rain hit. Despite the awful weather 15 minutes before the ceremony, God gave us beautiful weather and a beautiful sunset all day and immediately after the ceremony. There are SO many details that are so special to us that occurred during our wedding day.
I will not go into explanation about the emotions, God’s glory, reasons, and sentiment behind each detail from our wedding right now. I will write another blog post, one day in the near future, that talks about the reasons behind so many of the details that were a part of our wedding.
Ceremony: Our ceremony was so intimate and authentic. Every detail was US. Every moment was so special and we were consumed by Jesus’ love and our love as we became husband and wife. Our ceremony script was so special as I wrote it. Our music was so special as a family friend sang the beautiful words of the Lord. Our feet washing was so intimate as we performed this to express our salvation and commit to each other as we continue to walk strong in our faith with the Lord.
The Storms Rolled Out: Immediately as our ceremony began, the rain, thunder, and lighting stopped. God showed up and he stayed. He gave us a beautiful sky and a cool breeze on that hot summer night.
Reception: From our first dances, to our special dances, to Doc playing Family Tradition, to dancing and singing with friends… our reception was AMAZING!! I am so glad that all of our friends, new and old, and all of our family were there to celebrate our special day.
And that, my friends, in as short as possible blog, is our wedding day. We laughed, cried, smiled, worshipped, danced, and loved the whole day. Thank you to our friends and family for celebrating this day with us. Thank you to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who made this day happen. Thank you to my daddy for giving me the wedding of my dreams and to my momma for being there for me every step of the way. Thank you Jesus for being present during every part of our day. Thank you Connor for loving me and committing your life to me. I am so happy to be your wife.
