Sundays are always such slow, peaceful, family filled days. Connor and I started our Sunday morning by going to his Church, Journey Church, with his family. After church, we all enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the River House (the cabbage was amazing & I still want more of it). After a wonderful sermon, praising the Lord, and eating a yummy lunch, we were ready to enjoy the beautiful Alabama sunshine.
We went outside in the yard and Connor and Drake began doing their new favorite thing; playing fetch with a frisbee. After three or four throws, Drake was worn out and hot so, of course, he jumped right into the pool. (Yes, the pool is freezing, but it doesn’t seem to stop Drake from getting in). They played fetch for at least an hour and I enjoyed watching them have so much fun together.
Then, C had a wonderful idea to take an adventure to the bridge in West Point that I have been wanting to see. After finally getting Drake (a little) dry, we hopped in the truck and left the house to go to the bridge. We forgot Drake’s leash,of course, so we stopped at Dollar General and bought the best we could find. (It was hideous lol). The river trail and the park were so peaceful. We walked the river trail, adventured around, took lots of pictures, and watched a train go across the bridge.
We left the park and decided to ride back roads all the way home. We had the windows down, and music up as we talked and dreamed about the future and our future house (because all the houses we saw were STUNNING). Oh my goodness at the land and the white houses and white fences and white columns… It was dreamy.
I'd say it was a wonderful Sunday afternoon spent with C and Drake. The weather was beautiful and we soaked up as much sun as we could! Sundays are meant to spent worshiping the Lord, spending time with family, and taking in all of God’s beauty… and we did just that. I have always loved to live by the saying, “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.”
